About
Webbing Industries Australia
Webbing Industries Australia P/L continues to serve the
Australian Textile Industry after 50 years.
The company commenced operation in 1949 in a small factory in Prahran,
thus becoming the first factory to produce lace in Australia. Most
of these lace machines are still in operation today, creating quality
cluny cotton laces.
Expansion into weaving and knitting of elastic fabrics enabled the
company to become a significant supplier to the lingerie industry,
in particular to many other manufacturers and wholesalers in the
traditional textile arena. The company is an importer of raschel
laces and is the Australian agent for Berisfords Ribbons (UK), Kuny
(Switzerland), Walter Bohi Laces (Austria) and Wu Tong (Taiwan).
Webbing Industries Australia became a wholly Australian owned company in 1986,
when they were bought out by the Greatorex family. This heralded
a period of rapid change for the company. In 1988 the factory
was re-located to the current premises at 204 Chesterville
Road in Cheltenham.
New machines have been purchased in order to upgrade and expand
the factory. As Webbing Industries Australia has its' own dyeing and finishing
plant, we can colour match, dye and finish elastic, webbing
and industrial webbing to our customers requirements.

We have expanded our product range significantly in the past
few years, as we have ventured into new market areas, namely webbing
and industrial webbing. We now consider ourselves as narrow fabric
manufacturers rather than just lace and elastic manufacturers.
Recent changes in management has meant that we have a fresh young
team ready to tackle the new millennium. We at Webbing Industries Australia believe
that we have the right people, the right equipment and the right
products to take the company forward into these unsettled times.
Webbing Industries Australia has representatives and agents to serve your needs
throughout Australia and New Zealand.
